CALABAR- HUNDREDS of protesting youths on Wednesday morning besieged the People's Democratic party, PDP, secretariat along Mortala Mohammed Highway in Calabar, the Cross River State capital demanding for the dissolution of the state party executive committee.
The youths who bore various placard pillorying the party executive committee said the attempt by the leaders of the party to change the names of ward delegates elected on the 1st of November 2014 has made them to lose the confidence of the party members and accordingly demanded that they should be relieved of their positions.
Speaking on behalf of the aggrieved youths, Mr Caleb Awatt said the youths are also demanding that the list of the delegates elected on the 1st of November should not be tampered with as that is the authentic list of elected delegates. "We are saying unequivocally that the delegates elected on the first of November should remain and nobody should tamper with it and as supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan we have the right in the party to elect delegates that will vote for him during the party affirmation of his nomination" Awatts who spoke amidst cheers from the youths said if the names on the list of delegates elected on 1st November are changed, the party will be plunged into deep crisis in the state and called for the adoption of the names as they were duly elected.

Mr Peter Bebia, the Administrative Secretary of the party who addressed the youths urged them to return to their homes as the issues they have raised are being addressed since all the principal officers of the party are in Abuja to attend President Goodluck Jonathans declaration.
