The Commissioner for Agriculture in Cross River State James Aniyom,
has ordered the free distribution of oil palm seedlings to the people
of Cross River state as a way of improving the Agriculture economy of
the state and economic well being of the farmers.

The commissioner also gave the directive during the Ministerial
Management meeting held at the Ministry's Conference Room in Calabar.
He mention that the purpose of the directive was to encourage people
from Cross River to go into oil palm production since the state has
long been into the Agricultural Transformation Agenda of the Federal
Government and that it has accordingly become necessary to follow up
the transformation through the free distribution of oil palm seedlings
to farmers.

The Commissioner applaud the Agricultural Policies of state governor,
Liyel Imoke, which he said was empowering youths and women in
particular, through the provision of free Agricultural inputs and
loans to farmers. Aniyom therefore called on youths to respond to the
good gesture of the State Government and take advantage of its
Agricultural policies for their own benefit.
