The Presidency has assured Nigerians that if President Goodluck Jonathan loses in the February 14th elections, he would concede defeat and congratulate the winner, report from Daily Trust.
Dayo Adeyeye, the Minister of State for Works, assured Nigerians of this on Channels TV program 'Politics Today'.
He was asked if president Jonathan would congratulate the winner of the forthcoming elections if he (Jonathan) lost, and Adeyeye said yes, he would.
His words: "Of course. President, in many cases we lost governorship elections, was always the first person to congratulate the winner even when the winner is not a member of our party. So, we believe in democracy."
