#VoiceOfCalabar gathered that at about 9.00pm on tuesday evening on the 2nd of December 2014, the one man dare-devil followed his victim behind, (a residents of the area) as he was returning from work at a point he brought out his locally made gun and pointed it at the man(his victim).
Sources informed us that the victim boldly kicked the gun off his hand and quickly attacked him after disarming him. The assailant was said to have escaped, then people around raised alarm and other persons in the neighborhood chase the robber to a deep drainage where he fell and was caught.
#Voiceofcalabar learnt that the people of the area who for the past two(2) months have been robbed almost everyday of their valuables by arm robber, without the help from law enforcement agents(police), quickly carried out jungle justice on the armed robber whom they beat to pulp and dragged to Orok Orok by Mount Zion junction where he was set on fire.
#voiceofcalabar also gathered that on Sunday 31st of Nov 2014, residents of Uduak Orok were robbed by a gang of armed robbers who went from house to house in the area collecting money and property from their victims. It would be recalled that for the past three months, Calabar, the capital city of Cross River State has been under siege by the men of the underworld who carry out their wicked activities unperturbed.
Some of the people of the area who spoke with #voc called on law enforcement agents to wake up to their responsibility of protecting lives and property of law abiding citizens; and on the Cross River Government to do something to check mate this air of insecurity that is going on in the state the state.
